game day

I can't believe how long its been since I wrote here. Been very busy with just life, daughter moved and of course its Ohio State football season I'm just now waiting on the game to start.
I didn't always like to watch the games but since I started knitting I can sit and knit for as long as the game lasts with no guilt LOL. My husband thinks I do it to be with him and I do but knitting is a great bonus. knitting on a Saturday afternoon.

another first
This pair of baby socks was what restarted my knitting hobby I hadn't knitted for years I was always a crocheter but I didn't' like crocheted socks so when Kim opened her yarn shop and I found out she gave lessons I signed up and have been knitting daily since. Kim's shop is in her home and she also has knit-ins whenever she can. There is a fiber festival coming up on September 29th and she is way to busy to have weekly knit-ins. This fest is the first (another first for me) for Perry County, Ohio and we have 67 vendors signed up.

current project on the needle

my current scarf was supposed to be a stole. Had to frog it when I realized I didn't buy enough yarn. When I went back to the "Yarn Loft" Kim didn't have any more of the same color. oh well, I like scarves.

home-made knitting needles

made with polymer clay and dowel rods these needles were made for a knit-in I'm trying to start at my local library. I bring left-over yarn and extra needles for anyone that justs drops in.

knitting projects

Cristi came home today and I told her I was having trouble getting my pictures on my blog and she showed me how with only a couple of clicks. Lets see if I can do it on my own.

Its Friday

I came home from work yesterday and the house seemed warm tonight the house is HOT our central air is out the repairman is coming on Tues. It's is going to be a long weekend. My family reunion is Sunday I think there won't be any pies. I have a cousin who says I can't come without my sugar-cream pie.

I found a pattern and kol on yahoo groups for a stole called "Honeycomb Lace Shawl" It is on a German group but the pattern is in English. I think it will be fun. I try to read the messages and see if I can tell what the message is.

you can see in the picture (yes I finally got a picture to download, look out world)that I have three MS3 swatches I decided on the middle road. Pictures to follow when my stole is dry. If I take pictures of it stretched out my mistakes show up really, really big I'm hoping when it is draped I can hide my mistakes. LOL

my first prayer shawl

I finished. I have the stole blocked and it is drying I've been trying to bring pictures to my blog but so far I haven't been successful. I guess I'll have to ask for help from my granddaughter. She's ten so I sure she is better at the computer than I am.
