toooooo busy

Here it is Sunday, again. I've got to get to town and buy the backing for mom's memory board. I try to make her one for each season and she still has her fall leaves up. I'm trying to make it sturdier each time. She seems to always tears it apart at the bottom corner that she can reach from her bed. She is putting the remote control for her TV in the pocket and it wasn't made for that. For anyone that doesn't know. Mom is in a nursing home. She had a stroke about 6 years ago during her third open heart surgery.

William has a ball game today, too. Since the library changed my hours I can't get to all the games and Cristi said Emily is doing so much better this year. I hate my job when it makes it impossible to get to the kids functions. When Cliff gets his business going I will be quitting faster than you can say "good-bye". Did I say I hate my job?

12 days

I, like so many of us in all things Tim land, am trying to reproduce the first 3 of the 12 days of Christmas tags. I have about 10 percent of the required supplies so I have to really stretch to get them to look like Tim's The 2nd day I didn't have tag, flower, stamps, corners, hammer, sanding grip, what I did have was a file folder three of the four colors of the ink, other stamps that I made a frame with using masks, gold perfect pearls, I made the flowers with paper and gold embossing powder

new cards

One of my favorite sites is Ink Stains. It is even on my home page. I recently won a package of goodies from Roni and made these two cards from them. They were also made using her weekly sketch. Thank you Roni for all the inspiration I get from your blog.
If you notice one of the cards has an extra layer. Its because I didn't check which way the card opened and I did it upside down.

CD cube

I found the idea for this on one of my groups (I posted the link) It is a photo cube, but I made mine a message cube. I am the branch manager for our small library and everyone is always asking for a pen and paper, so I divided the center and will put pens and paper in it. Thank you Paper Jewels for the tute.

Sharing Pictures

My father-in-law died last week and my husband and I found loads of pictures. Most of them had nothing written on the back and we have no idea who they are. The little girl against the house is Margaret Elizabeth Baker, age 10 month forn Feb 1st 1917. The other picture looks like it might have been taken maybe at a fair. The back has (J.J. Wolf The leading Photographer Lancaster Ohio. Duplicates can be had at any time.)
I don't know if copy rights ever run out but my father-in-law was 93 when he died and since my mother-in-laws family wasn't from Lancaster I have to assume it was from Ed's side of the family.

carson's sayings

Last night Cristi and family were out for dinner. I had made pesto and ended the dinner with some in my teeth, as I was brushing my teeth with Carson watching he asked "Are you going to bed?" It brought the house down.He is always good for laugh.

Pin

This is a pin I put together using a donimo for the base. Its kind of heavy for a light blouse but works fine on a tee.

Happy 4th

I've been on the computer all morning. I've opened e-mails and checked out my favorite blogs and just took all the time to enjoy my online friends.

I finshed Michele's baby book in time for the party but I didn't get a picture of it before it was wrapped. I got my thank you from her just yesterday.

I made a few cards this week and that just about all I got done. I tried a new technique using waxed paper but I did't work so I'll try again later.

I want to wish everyone out there a very happy 4th and don't forget to remember why we are celebrating. My deepest thanks goes out to all our people in service everywhere. The radio was playing patriotic songs all morning and it brought a tear to my eye.

now for art

Today I have the day off. I'm going to my studio (basement) to work on art. My neice is having a baby and I'm going to make her a baby scrapbook.

New hours

Well I made it through the first day of my new hours (barely) I now know I can't do 12 hours of work in 5 hours. I had to not help a young person find a book because I couldn't get away from my desk. Things I didn't get done was well, everything, I didn't get cargo done, all the books checked in, no books put away, now in the back room there is food to give away. This is called dinner but I see it as more of a snack. Yesterdays dinner was a pb&j crustable with milk diced peaches and applesauce. I am supposed to count how many I give out, make sure they eat it there and the kids have to under 18. This when I don't have time to check in all the books in the book drop.

This food is through an Appalachian grant to help anyone stretch their food budget. The rules are the child has to under 18 and the food is to be eaten there. I am going to post the rules but I CANNOT police the following of same. Oh and the food is only for the kids.

First day for new hours

Today I start as manager of the Junction City branch of the Perry County Library. We have major money problems. We had to close one branch and lay off 8 people now this part of Ohio has no place else for the kids to go or do. Were is all the stimulus money I keep hearing about? Junction is down to 14 hours a week. I'm supposed to do the work of two people. I told my boss I would do the best I can. I just spent several hours of my own time (I think this will be an ongoing thing) getting organized. I am wondering if I could hit up companies for donations for a craft class? This would also have to be on my own time. I love my little part of Perry County so this would not be a hardship for me. Times are hard, my DH was laid off after 23 years so spending my own money is not an option. I would love to hear from other people with this same problem?

blog hop

I went blog hopping yesterday, I met 30 blogs and had a great time. I'm not sure how to share my blog yet, I'm kinda new with this blog thing. I am able to use mine as a journal but as for sharing I haven't as yet. I'm sure other people would find me boring as a writer, so I haven't shared my address on my blogs.

Since Cliff lost his job I've been kinda lost. His glass is half full and mine is half empty. He says this is what he needed to get him motivated to start his home business and I'm afraid we will lose hour home.

Oh well I guess I will just put it in God's hands and pray.

I'm a winner

One of my favorite sites "ink stains" had a contest last week and I won. I haven't recieved my pound of stuff yet but I can't wait. I have promised to make some art with it.
With my DH lossing his job this will be the only new stuff I will be able to get for a while.

Saturday morning

I am sitting at my dining room table catching up on all things Internet and looking out at the sun shining on the ice on the trees. I don't think I could get a picture that would tell how beautiful it is.

The broken trees from the bad storm last summer are showing their wounds and are falling from the weight of the ice. The ice tinkles as it falls through the lower branches.

areogarden

this is week four for my areogarden. I have tomatoes and basil, thyme
chives and one pod that didn't grow. Will have to put a different seed
pod in its place.

Winter from by back porch

I thought I would get some winter pictures but I didn't go to far.

Winter days in Ohio

more snow

I am staying home because of ice and snow this is my 3rd day. It's like a mini vacation.

This is a ball of kittens. Why do people thing just because we live in the country it is alright to drop off unwanted cats out here. This is the latest batch of kittens. I have to call the vet and start getting at least the females fixed. I't not cheep but there is no other way, I can't feed this many.

The little white one looks like her grandmother except that the older one has long hair. When I took her to the vet they asked her name. Its the same as all of them Kitty Cat.

Winter day

I have been inside for two days, so you would think I would be getting something done. So far I have been just looking out the windows and watching the weather. We had about an inch of ice so far last night and now it is starting so snow. It was bad enough to close the library system where I work. No school, no anything. I live on a country road so it gets real bad (for me) real soon. I need to get my 120 page technique done but our electric bill was so big last month that I had to turn off the heaters in the basement so its really cold down there. I can bring up small things to do but a 120 page glue and fire project? It is starting to snow harder now and is blowing. Our electric went out for a minute, as we have a total electric house it is a worry. We had a bad storm last August and lost power for a week if we loose power now the food wouldn't spoil but it would get really cold in here.

winter day

I've stayed in for the whole of this weekend. The weather is bad here in Ohio and I'm using it as an excuse to stay in and work on some stuff. I have the skinny book pages due and a ATC swap due at the end of the month. I hope to get them in the mail by next Saturday.
